We’re seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor/Porter who takes pride in creating a clean, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for our residents and guests. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of the property’s daily presentation—ensuring common areas shine, supporting building operations, and contributing to a seamless living experience. Compensation: $20.00/hour What You’ll Do: Grounds & Common Areas Sweep sidewalks, terraces, lobbies, and hallways Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the building Respond quickly to spills, weather-related messes, or other safety hazards Cleaning & Detailing Clean and polish floors, glass, mirrors, brass, and woodwork Deep clean as needed (carpet cleaning, grout scrubbing, waxing floors) Maintain the laundry room, fitness center, and management offices Report any damage or safety issues to the Resident Manager Building Maintenance Support Clean stairwells, service areas, and the compactor room Change light bulbs and help prepare units for new residents Use building systems to log tasks and report ongoing issues Resident & Concierge Support Cover the front desk during concierge breaks Monitor service doors during move-ins and deliveries Assist with unit inspections and ensure spaces look great for tours Special Projects & Events Help set up and clean shared spaces like lounges, rooftops, and gyms Support building events and gatherings by helping with logistics and cleanup Sustainability & Safety Keep elevators, trash rooms, and amenity areas clean and odor-free Support recycling and compost programs Perform scent and cleanliness checks to ensure the building feels fresh Participate in team meetings and be open to cross-training #RMC Qualifications 1-2 years of prior janitor, cleaner, or porter experience Must be reliable and have experience working with cleaning chemicals Must be a team player and be able to work with little supervision Excellent time management skills and work ethic needed Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and be able to stand for an 8-hour shift Light maintenance knowledge is a plus Overview Build Your Career With Related Management Company A subsidiary of Related Companies, Related Management Company (RMC) is a premier owner/operator of real estate, managing hundreds of properties across multiple states and Washington, D.C.
